When I was a child I wanted to grow up to be a teacher
and a scientist
and a mom
and a writer
and a gymnast
and a pastor’s wife
and a recording artist
and a movie star
and a shoe salesman
I have the degree to be a teacher
and the kids to be a mom
even if they don’t look much like me
but the others
well, I haven’t achieved them, yet
And I’m not sure I want to
Several of them are better left undone
I’m not sure this body could manage a back flip
At least not on purpose
And unless Mark becomes a pastor
That one ain’t happenin’ either!
Madame Curie has nothing to worry about
I’ll never play opposite George Clooney
And I’d rather Buy shoes than sell them
More than anything
When I grow up
I want to be like my Father
I want to look like Him
I want to talk like Him
I want to love like Him
And when people look at me
I want them to be able to say
She acts just like her Father!
Love this! Great job…you have talents I didn’t know you had. 🙂
Love this, Marijo!
Well written. I can see you fitting into some of these slots. Love reading these.
How true, Marijo. It isn’t bad that you didn’t do all the things you planned. You have chosen what I would call the “better things.”
