Books or Burdens

Want me to carry your books?

This is not a phrase you hear much anymore

Back in the day (oh my! I’m sounding so OLD)

A young man offered to carry the books of the young lady he was sweet on

I don’t know why it isn’t a mating custom like it used to be

May be on account of every one having a backpack

Or because their own load is so heavy

Or the Women’s Liberation Movement

Who knows?

Books

Burdens

We all have them

I’m just glad we don’t have to carry them all by ourselves

We are instructed in the Bible to carry one another’s burdens

Galations 6:1-3

1-3 Live creatively, friends. If someone falls into sin, forgivingly restore him, saving your critical comments for yourself. You might be needing forgiveness before the day’s out. Stoop down and reach out to those who are oppressed. Share their burdens, and so complete Christ’s law. If you think you are too good for that, you are badly deceived.

Opie offered to carry Karen’s books

Wally and the Beaver carried books as well  for a few young ladies

I think Mark even offered to carry my books on occasion

Find someone today and ask

Want me to carry your burdens?

  1. Sometimes we feel so weak that we do need to have someone carry our burdens – or even just need to know that someone is willing and wants to help us.
